Details
As a Huskie Food Pantry volunteer, you play an active role at each shift in upholding both the University's mission and vision to empower students and promote personal, professional, and intellectual growth. Every task at the pantry completed with genuine care for your fellow Huskies, reflects the Huskie Food Pantry values of dignity and respect to all students, food safety, and efficient effective use of our donations.
If you are not available for the full duration of your selected shift, please make a note in the comments section when you sign up and remind the volunteer leader or staff at the beginning of the shift.
The safety and well-being of the NIU community is our priority. All volunteers MUST wash their hands before and after their shift. Wearing a mask is optional.
If you are sick, please do not attend your shift. Contact studentassistance@niu.edu or Jeanne Baxter at jbaxter1@niu.edu as soon as possible to cancel your shift.
Students who repeatedly do not show up for their shift or are repeatedly late without prior communication with us risk losing the privilege to volunteer at the Huskie Food Pantry.
Please email studentassistance@niu.edu with your questions or concerns. Thank you, in advance, for your active participation and positive influence in the Huskie community!
