Below are current opportunities to volunteer or participate. If you’re interested, please register in advance using the appropriate sign-up link.
Volunteer Opportunities:
Student Move-In Volunteers I Wednesday, August 19th
Help welcome new students and families during Move-In.

Week of Welcome Volunteers
Support events throughout the week with set-up, check-in, and welcoming students.

Serve as an official Week of Welcome volunteer throughout the week.

Help CAB with two of NIU’s largest welcome events.

Culture Fest I Wednesday, August 19 @ 4:30 PM I MLK Commons
Represent your RSO during NIU’s celebration of cultures and communities.

Band Run & Huskie Stadium Kick Off I Thursday, August 20 @ 3:30 PM
Time to bring the hype! Follow the Huskie Marching Band and Silverettes dance team in this spirited campus parade leading into the Huskie Stadium Kick-Off. Help hand out rally towels and welcome new students! Meet us Patterson Hall!
Color Run/ Walk / Roll I Saturday, August 22 @9:30 AM
Welcome our incoming students with a splash of color—literally! Whether you run, walk, or roll, you’ll get showered in safe, washable color powder at this fun run around campus. Wear white and leave rainbowed. All fitness levels welcome! Meet outside the Campus Recreation Center.
President's Picnic I Sunday, August 23 @ 4 PM I East Lagoon
Join President Lisa Freeman and the NIU community for an afternoon of great food, music, games and connection by the lagoon. It’s your official welcome to Huskie Nation. Bring your appetite and your student org members!
